*Tell me a bit about yourself… name, location…everything you want..

I’m Jennifer Ladd. I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the United States with my husband and two-year-old daughter. I was a French teacher for six years before I decided to change careers and stay home with my daughter full-time after we adopted her from Vietnam last year. Now I’m a mommy by day and a crafter by night. I make and sell my handmade bags, purses, and baby items, and I am loving my new job

*Apart from creating things, what do you do?

Family is my number one priority. When I’m not sewing, you’ll always catch me spending time with my family: going to the zoo, taking walks, strolling through the art museum, or visiting the local farmer’s market every weekend.

*When you find time to make your creations?

Being a mom is my full time job (the best I’ve ever had!). Then I work on my craft projects in the evening when my husband is home and is able to have some “daddy-daughter time” while I work.
Some days it is tough to be sewing while I hear my husband and my daughter playing and giggling in the other room. I know that time will pass so quickly, and I want to enjoy every minute of life with her. Luckily, I do spend all of my day with her, and I do really enjoy my evening sewing time. It is a little mental break for me. Also, my daughter usually spends the evening playing at my feet, anyway!

*How do you promote your work?

I use twitter, Flickr, and IndiePublic. I try to spend some time in the Etsy forums every day. I have also just started buying ads.

*Name your top five web sites besides Etsy…

*Write here in few words: why people should visit your store?

I strive to make each item as cute as possible. When I design my pieces, I lean toward simplicity, sleek lines, and modern design. But then I add the excitement with bright colors and bold, hip prints. I pay attention to the details of all of my pieces by adding cool linings to the bags, for example, or adding ribbon embellishments to bibs. The little details are what make handmade items extra special.

Thank you very much Jennifer .. for your great work and for the time spent to answer these questions!

*Tell me a bit about yourself… name, location…everything you want..

My name is Debby Hughes and I live on Siesta Key which is an island just off the west coast of Florida. I am a creator of eclectic and artistic jewelry and I am joyful and appreciative that it is my full time profession.

*Apart from creating things, what do you do?

I spent many years in the hospitality industry as well as construction which left me void of my creativity. My most devoted and meaningful experience, however, has been nurturing and raising my 5 children. All of them have successfully moved on in the world except one. She is 9 years old and the last of my angels.
What I want most in my life is to watch my children grow in a peaceful loving world where they may create and manifest the dreams that they so richly deserve.

*How do you promote your work?

I promote my creations through “ETSY”, various blogs, shops throughout various states, word of mouth, and of course business cards. Many of my creations are “bought off my body!”

*Name your top five web sites besides Etsy…

Some of my favorite web sites are:
    http://EBSQ.com
    http://TWITTER.com
    http://TRUNKT.com
    http://INDIEQUARTER.com
    and the infamous http://YOUTUBE.com

*Write here in few words: why people should visit your store?

I think people should visit my store because my pieces are very unique and always one of a kind. They will never be duplicated, so you can be sure that you will be the only one in the world to own one of my creations. They are as individual as you are. I have been told that I am a trend setter and ahead of my time.

*… finally, write here why should I visit the country where you live?

I think that you should visit my country because it is as unique as my jewelry. It is a melting pot of all nationalities which makes it a colorful and beautiful place. Each state has something different to offer whether it be climate, art, landscape, people, animals, food or traditions. We welcome our foreigners with open arms.

Thank you Debby for your answers and good luck for your sales!

Another special seller this week! Read everything about her!

*Tell me a bit about yourself…

My name is Rachelle, I live in a beautiful neighborhood in Portland, Oregon US. I’ve been married to a wonderful man for 3 years and have a sweet little girl named Taylor (21 mo) and one named Lucy due on December 6th.

*Apart from creating things, what do you do?

My first priority is being a stay-at-home-Mom, I also design stuff for Zazzle: http://www.Zazzle.com/ViolettoDesigns* and run a photography business: http://www.violettodesigns.com Since we are expecting our second little girl, I will probably give photography a break and focus on etsy & Zazzle.

*When you find time to make your creations?

That’s the tricky part.. usually during nap time is my time to grab a cup of tea, and pull out my crafts and have some me time. :)

*How do you promote your work?

I don’t do a lot of promoting, I have a link on our personal blog, but that’s about it!

*Name your top five web sites besides Etsy…
    Zazzle
    MarthaStewart
    Craigslist
All my friends Blogs, & My secret Freebie website. ;)

*Write here in few words: why people should visit your store?

If you have children that are under 3 years old or know any, I sell unique blocks that will keep them entertained and educated for hours, my (almost 2 year old) daughter) likes to “test” out all the blocks I make before I send them to my customers because I can hardly keep them away from her. There is just something about the size of the blocks and the little pictures that mesmerize them. http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=16661967

*.. and finally, write here where are you from and why should I visit the country where you live?

I’m originally from California, but once I moved up to Oregon, I fell in love. It’s the best of all worlds, there is country here, scenic hills, wonderful tourist areas, friendly people, big city, you can’t go wrong in Oregon and Portland. Sometimes we will have a night on the town in Portland and get all dressed up (20 minutes from where we live) then other times we will go for a drive in the country, enjoy the scenery, pick some home grown berries and visit a small cafe (also 20 minutes away) Oregon has it all, at least in my eyes. :)

    Thanks Rachelle!

*.. and finally, write here where are you from and why should I visit the country where you live?

I am from Ohio in the United States. Ohio is a great state to visit in the U.S because we have great people, a nice mix of big cities and rural countryside and because we have Cedar Point, home of the fastest roller coasters! Lots of fun in Ohio to be had:)

Good luck for your fine art, Michelle!

    VISIT THIS STORE: http://beautifulbridget.etsy.com

*Tell me a bit about yourself… name, location…everything you want..

Hi there! I am the proud mother of 2 beautiful daughters. I have been blessed to be able to stay home with my girls and work out of my home selling across the internet for the past 10 years.

As you may have guessed, I absolutely LOVE to create! My hands are always busy…if I don’t have something to occupy my hands, I will fall asleep in 15 minutes…so I make things ;) My creative genius (am I allowed to call it that?) usually comes out late in the evenings while my oldest daughter and I get together to watch our favorite reality TV shows and crochet…our “mother and daughter” time which I cherish more than anything else in life.

*Apart from creating things, what do you do?

I also run a full-time online business selling on eBay and Amazon with my husband.

*When you find time to make your creations?

In the evenings after the house has quieted down and everyone has gone to bed (thankfully I’m a night owl and the hubby is an early riser!)

*How do you promote your work?

I promote by being in different groups, promote on my blog, Project Wonderful, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace….anywhere I can.

*Name your top five web sites besides Etsy…

    ArtFire, 1000Markets, Twitter, Facebook, ShopHandmade

*Write here in few words: why people should visit your store?

I really take pride in what I create and sell and I believe in having a wide variety of items to choose from. And I love my customers, without them BeautifulBridget would be nothing.

Thank you for time you spent for my blog … and good luck for your business!
